Need some help please, just laced up a rim with DT Swiss Competition Stainless DB Spokes and nipples, now I'm struggling trying to find a spoke key that will fit. Measured nipple across the flats and it is 3.6mm but all I can find are 3.4mm keys. Do I have to buy the DT Swiss one or are there other alternatives.
There are three different standard sizes. Park tool make a key with all three sizes which is useful for most home mechanics. Buy that one. It looks like a toblerone piece.
I know the one you mean and I have it in my, never-ending let's buy a, tool kit. I first tried it over the nipple and then measured, it's too small the max is 3.4mm with that tool. I'm confussed as I thought they are all a standard size?
Just measured in imperial and it's a reading of 0.141 inches.
WTF! ๐ฏ ๐
Use a needle file and opened up an old one, it will do for now.
