...have any of you replaced your bushes and bearings without Nicolai's 'special tool' ? Can you do the job with a normal bearing press ?

I think you can hire the Tools from Nicolai UK.
I made my own..

Thanks nicolaisam. Presumably, you just need a tool to press the bushes and bearings into place ?

Yes,I also have a tapered spike that fits in the end of the main pivot,it helps allign it all when putting it back together.

I borrowed tools from Dipper at Gravity-Sports... but having done it with the proper tools once I'd be more than happy to bodge it with what I have in the garage next time. Rocket science it is not.
