ive used nail varnish on my fork. if your abraisive has any flex in it, it will pull it out. I use nice fine emery cloth/paper, and a sanding block to support it (stop it from getting pushed into the softer material)

(black nail varnish, from my goth days ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

How bad are they? I've always just taken away any sharp edges then left them.
