Not sure how you can be bored with a stem, lol, they are not exactly exciting in the first place.

Funnduro stem - 45mmm or 60mm lengths IIRC.

Fun by name, fun by nature.

Hope AM/FR

I like that you torque the top bolts all the way, then the bottom two, like on Easton stems. Feels a better approach than having to go round gradually tightening them all.

The best looking stem by far that I've put on my bike is the chromag hifi v2 50mm. Half price at Shoreline Distribution £34.99, what's not to like?

Was bored of them too so bought a Ritchey WCS trail, 45mm length. Really nice stem but a bit of a git to get the bars on because of the 220 degree wrap around.

As above, the Syntace is very nice and way lighter than the Thomson it replaced

Hope as above from Merlin with the extra 10% off.

They are bloody wide though.

Easton Haven has to be the benchmark these days making Thompson look out of date. The Havoc is quite a bit heavier but definitely beefier.

Thomson is still the class act and a must on all my bikes. I have the 40mm (had to buy it from US) and it is a piece of art. Otherwise, I would go Burgtec. If you want to follow the crowd, Renthal.

Fit and forget, get a Hope or pretty much anything. If you want to have to keep taking it apart, cleaning and greasing bolts, checking torque to stop the maddening creak... get a Renthal Duo.

I have a Thomson X4, it's nice, although the stem bolts are 3mm? Quite annoying and I've rounded them a few times. Reflects poorly on me though I guess.
Funn Funnduro is a very cheap and nice looking stem in black, had 0 problems with mine.
DMR Defy is also a nice bit of kit!

Think Gammut bought them out - but I really like the Point 1 racing stems . .

I've a bit of a stem fetish, always messing with stem length and rise etc. and love a nicely designed stem. Now settled on a 50mm Renthal Duo on my 2 MTB's, IMO it's a great design, never had an issue with creaking. Prefer it to the APEX stem. Have a syntace megaforce2 as well which I like but it's the epitome of efficient boringness.
