hmmm, not so sure I want cable pulled in close/around my shock - especially having seen how quick it 'bites' frames...

That's definitely one place I wouldn't want cable rub...
Looks like flimsy rubber (might be wrong). If it was/is a bit more substantial and holds the cable firmly out of the way, then yeah!

Wouldn't that have been better using some sort of insert where the pin is? That way strikes me as a really great way to ruin things for yourself.
