Spending a week in Newquay in August and will need to escape the family for a while. Can anyone recommend a bike hire shop with decent bikes preferably FS nearby, anything I've found so far not inspiring.
Also any recommendations for rides welcome. Preferably not the sort of thing listed on the Newquay website which are mainly old railways etc.

Think the Bike barn near Porth Towan (About 10 miles from Newquay) does hire bikes . Most of the good trails in Cornwall are cheeky. If you look on facebook for Cornwall trailriders, cornwall mtb or Cornwall freerides, one of these groups should suit your type of riding ! Most people will be more than happy to show you their trails.
