newbie here so hi and help please
i have an old 2005 (approx) trek 4300 hardtail which i feel is a bit dated compared to my boardman road bike, im feeling the need to buy a new mtb but only have about £500 to spend. what are my options fellas, do i wait and save abit more for the entry level boardman or maybe the voodoo hoodoo or buy second hand, if second hand what do i go for, my mtb knowledge could be written on a spoke. i ride on the isle of wight, nothing mad im too old for that, im 6 foot 1 inch tall if this helps, just poodling off road when its not to muddy.
cheers in anticipation

poodling

is that a niche form of dogging?

try merlin's own brand bikes - they are a solid recommendation at this price point, although having just had a look, the malt 1 is £650. I'd rather have that than a boardman.

thanks for that alfabus, i have just been to the local shop and they were trying to sell me either the trek 4900 or a cube acid (which i liked) but this is more money, guy said they are better than the entry boardman and the voodoo hoodoo, but to be fair they could tell me anything. do i need to spend the extra for the cube or buy a voodoo?
regards

I reckon the Carrera Fury looks decent value at £579
