What do you guys think of my new bike?
Just cover up the saddle, its only there until i get some money, because i'm in debt right now. also things i'm doing tommorow, is taking the granny ring off and putting a new big ring and keeping the middle ring on the cranks and also getting some bar ends.
And i've also got new tyres in the post. Continental race kings, what do people thinK?

in the first pic you should put some shoes on - you might accidently stand on some glass

the wheelbase looks very short; is it a 29er with a large frame?

Haha, i just ran out side, wanted to get a pic before it chucked it down.
Nah its 26 inch, with a 21 inch frame. I think the tyres give it the impression too tbh.

Get some new grips or put the bar ends back on.

Race Kings - are you mad? You'll need a proper tyre as well.

the saddle is burning my eyes.
Apart from that, your gripshift and grips dont fit properly ( bar ends maybe still to be put on?)
And you need new wheels that match, silver and black rim just dont match )( go for black )
Nice apart from those things

Yeahh i'm getting bar ends. thats why they are like that. and the rims are only temporary until i get more money. Function over fashion!
and why not race kings, i've been under the impression they are good?

ye gods man!!! A race bike you say? How much does the chain guard weigh???
Get rid, NOW!
Not sure if the new fashion saddle will catch on, but hey why not? 😉

Is no-one going to mention the leaves? Ther's green ones and brown ones all mixed up. It's a disgrace!!!

The bucket, WTF?

And the door needs repainting!!! At least the house has been repointed, so not all bad.

Enjoy it, it looks great. 😆

and why not race kings, i've been under the impression they are good?

They're good if it's fast and dry. The wire ones are the worst, at least the Supersonics are a bit tacky. No off camber grip and they tear pretty easy.
Proper scary in the wet, and scary fast in ideal conditions.

Haha i can deal with a little drift in wet conditions, i'll give them a go anyway. I've always got some geax tyres anyways. And On and on i think i'm gonna be keeping these parts and frame for sometime yet, so dont get your hopes up.

Will be testing out this beauty at dalby all next week with a coupla friends.

"them cranks just came off my AM bike"
Those crankarms (the ones that come with the double/bash) are heavier than the ones that come with the triple, having steel pedal inserts and steel axle

That saddle is pretty awful though, it looks too big and out of scale with the rest of the bike, not sure what is going on with the angle of it either, especially with the low handlebar position, do you not like your nads?

If your arse is any kind of match for that saddle you won't be winning many races. 🙂

If this was for sale on t'bay I'm sure somebody would have started a thread along the lines of 'Is this bike made up from bits from stolen bikes?'

Come on hes only 16 if I owned a bike like that at 16 I'd be pretty pleased with it.

Obviously needs a new saddle, but a bit of extra weight will just make him fitter at that age.

Haha dont worry scu98rkr, i've been riding a 39 lbs bike for 2 years until this.
Thats enough weight to haul around 😉

Why oh why oh why do some of you feel the need to be such tw*ts?

That bike is 95% great and he's 16 - at that age I had some three tonne steel heap of junk with 15 gears.

Yes a few upgrades will help (not major ones either) but it's generally a decent steed - not that it matters.

I don't think that anyone is being a tw*t Mat, most people are picking up on the thing he knows is grim (the saddle) and minor flaws. I read it as "it's a really nice bike, I'll take the mick about this minor bit for the sake of humour because I Can't find any other faults". I'm sure the guy wasn't taking them seriously and is aware he has a lovely bike. Keep your hair on.

agree with coffeeking, brownix seems pretty chilled about the banter. But if I have a spare saddle at home then he's gonna get it sent to him!

time for your suppository mat? 😉

Don't think i'd be too happy for someone to suggest my bike was made up of stolen bits.

he didn't, he suggested it looks like it's made of stolen parts due to the slightly odd mixture not quite suited to the bike. My god some people read too far between the lines and get a whole new book.

That bike has loads of potential, (carbon frame? -my eyes are dim I cannot see...mmmm!)

I would use the parts that came with it to train on and while you save and get fit for racing if thats your goal and then upgrade bits 2 months before a race.

If people hate the saddle (which he is changing), anyone want to donate one to him???

Or setup a paypal account for the OP and 20 of us donate a quid... 8)

Haha thanks you guys, clubber ygm and david wazz how much postage??

Just been at dalby for a few days, it was brill, super fast up the hills and rails the berms with ease, not too bad at jumping too. only thing i'm missing is the barging through all the roots like on my old full suss. But i'll get used to that.

And to the person that thought that comment was about it being stolen, i didnt read it like that, so i didnt care. tbh
