Right Im now losing the will to live, revelation motion control damping went, so no damping and no lockout. So new seal and new oil, followed the sram videos on you tube all back together all nice an plush air back in. But still no damping or lock out !!!!!
I cannot work out how the oil is getting round the damper, the o ring seal seems snug and I can see the damper hole opeing and closing as the lockout dial turns.
Has anyone any idea why I still have no damping?
No, But sounds similar to what hapened to my Rev's the other week. Got the news off TF Tuned that it was very likely to be the actual unit and not a seal. Luckily under warranty so been sent to Fisher to get fixed.
Sorry but no help I know
Im hoping that isnt the case however its looking more likely, whats the warranty period?
Two years for the original owner
it seems something to do with a crimped seal internally, I found a lot of info on it over on mtbr , which is why I ignored the DIY advice I received
I may be on the cusp will go an dig the reciept out ta!
I was hoping to update you on how I got on but apparently Fisher haven't received them as of today. 🙁 Oh and mine are just 1yr old
Maybe tomorrow
Did You change the MC seals as well? Worth checking whether the oil is not going to the lowers leg, where the rebound damper seal might be letting oil. Take all the air out the fork, try and compress it, if it won't compress almost completely leaving just some uppers showing (enough so that the crown would not rub on the tyre) than it's probably something else. If however the forks will not compress completely that means there is too much oil in the lower legs, if You poured the recommended amount in, then it's probably the oil coming from the rebound side, causing not enough oil in the rebound damper which means no lockout. That's what was wrong with my Reba. A MC seal kit is something like £15-18 for some o-rings and circlips. So try if the fork will compress almost completely, if not than it is possible it's the o-ring in the rebound damper.
Hi Fella
I have replaced the full motion controls seal kit, when you say there is an o ring ‘in’ the rebound damper is it actually inside the rebound damper? I know there are two on the outside which I have replaced.
Thanks
