As the title, my Oakley DRT is getting on a bit now and a new lid is in order.

Quite like the look of the Fox Speedframe Pro, but the Dropframe looks interesting and I think I'm leaning to more protection.  I may just end up with another Oakley helmet.   What else should I be considering?

Also, I think a new full face might be a requirement too, after looking at my current one - expensive summer ahead.   Love my Urge Downmatic, so looking for a lightweight but robust replacement.  Any contenders worth considering?

a massive number of race paddocks are filled with TLD D4s for racing... i don't like them in terms of fit personally... but they're very very popular

Against all popular opinion I really like my Spec Ambush (the new one) plus it was very cheap.

I have the older Dropframe which I think is probably the sweet spot for mid level protection.

Tried the new one and I think it's a bit too much.

Thinking about replacing my Speedframe. Love the looks, but after a couple of years telling myself it's a great helmet, I've conceded it's not that comfy (for my head)

Tried a MET Roam on the other day and that seemed really comfy

I got round to trying a dropframe over the weekend, as above it felt too much, I'd rather have a full face than something that gave me the feel and confidence of a full facer without the chin guard...   Speedframe on order, felt comfy when I tried it on, but i won't know until i'm bouncing down a rocky descent for sure!

What about a Bell Super DH?

I wear mine all the time and find more often than not I hang the chin guard off my belt for climbing & put it on for the descents.

I have a funny shaped head and after trying a lot of lids the speed frame pro was the best fit for me.

My advice would be go to shop and try all the designs, I really liked the look of the tld but it didn't sit right on my noggin.
