just bought new cassette 12-30t (existing was 11-25) will my shimano 105 short cage rear deralier work or will I need to buy a medium cage?

I used a short cage 105 mech on an 11-34 cassette on a 38T front ring on my DH bike with no ill effects . Not sure if it would be ok on a multi front ring set up.

Indeed - what rings are up front? I'd guess if 2 ring (10 tooth difference) you'll be fine. 3 ring you'll not get away with.

I run a 46/36 with a 11:34 cassette using a short cage 105 mech, no problems
