13 years ago I aquired a Claude Butler, rigid steel bike, 21 speed, cantilevers.
It's been through many incarnations over the years, from only-bike to spare-bike to commuter. It's been upgraded to full 27sp XT at one point in it's life but has spent the last three years as a singlespeed for commuting and generally going places.
Frame, seatpost, bars and bar-ends were original, everything else had been replaced at least once, but likely many more times, it was on it's fourth rear wheel.
Sadly, I cracked the frame a couple of weeks ago, and unable to weld rust to more rust it had to be replaced. A new frame and heaset were purchased, and some forks, a stem, carbon riser bars, saddle and seatpost were taken out of the bits box in the garage and added to it, everything else coming off the old CB, although I swapped the old rear mech for a proper chain tensioner.
At what point does it stop being the same bike? When the frame goes or was there a point some time ago when it was more new than old?

Anyway,
Old and now sadly departed:[IMG] [/IMG]
New and shiney:[IMG] [/IMG]

Not my garden so no point critising the piles of leaves etc. Hoses about the right length and valves/logos all lined up.
