With home wired lights (bodged Exposure White Eye/Red Eye combo running off 18650's). First time i've run rim brakes in over 10 years, its a little scary.
Not bad for £200 ish all in.

Looks good, what is it, raliegh?
Needs a road bb7 disc on the front end though.

It is an old MTrax Duotech 300 Ti/Cr-Mo from about 94 yeah.
That will come, but funds are limited right now.

How do the brakes work?- you do know that full size V brakes dont usually work with road levers?
Are you comfortable with the drops rotated forward like that, or are you still to adjust the position?
'Not trying to sound critical BTW- you absolutely get maximum points for the green colour! 😀

You say don't usually work? How so? i had read that they were only recommended with long reach versions (ie the Paul MotoBMX brakes i have, going from a 26" mount to 28" rim are good, but not on a 28" mount), but so far other than the front being very sharp i've not had an issue. (I want more power in the front brake anyway)

Haven't ridden it for an extended period yet, but for access to the levers, so far this way suits.

Got the bar-stem-levers combo as a freebie, and as the levers alone retail at £200 ish on CRC, i had to make bits work with it.

The Green isn't quite the colour i wanted, but for a rattlecan job it has come up nice, and i'm lovely the bare Ti pipes. Normally my home brew paint jobs getslaughtered on here though lol.

Hi,swift, Usually proper Vs pull too much cable for road levers to handle, so the lever travels all the way to the bar before the pad hits the rim.
If you've got it too work though, a lot of folk would like to know the secret!

Well the plan is to get a slightly nobblier tyre on, and use it for some offroad excursions too. My original idea was to build it as a 69er, but funds stopped me.
It was either a 32 or 44t on the front from the spares box, so 32 it was.
This may change in the future though.

Ah well, to be fair, i have had to adjust them to be very close to the rim, ie disc style clearance, but the Paul brakes are amazing, i can see why they retail for $300+ a pair, and with the BMX style spring, you can get them dialled easily. Now with a buckle it way be another story, but currently, there is absolutely no rub, and approximately half a levers travel is fully engaged. I rate the kool-stop pads highly too.

Ahhh!, I've just had a wee deek at the Paul's website, I see that the brakes have height adjustable pads.That would explain how they work- with the 26" wheels it must have similar pull to mini-Vs.
Very interesting..
