He’s currently riding, and outgrown, a 13” 26” wheel frame Specialized hardrock.

This below looks a decent spec, nothing amazing but solid enough, apart from the fork being qr? But he is fairly lightweight so maybe that won’t make too big a difference.

Potentially hypothetical at the moment as I need to clear funds with Mrs Rock and he also seems to be just on the cusp of frame sized and I was hoping this next one would last a good few years so going the size up might be too soon yet.

Edit, I meant the 2018 model, on offer.

Was riding at the weekend with a friend whos 10yr old daughter had just got a Saracen Mantra Trail (Womens) in 15in. Was a tad big for her but a lovely bike and they can be had for £600 ish if you look around. It has improved her riding massively, cruised round the reds at Mabie and Ae.
I've also seen the Whyte 802 Compact for a similar price. Also Voodoo Maji from Halfords looks nice and wait for a discount weekend and it'll be around £450.

HTH I'll be in a similar boat soon!!

Rockhopper. I got a 15" gt bump that I'm trying to shift. It has 26" wheels, like a bigger bmx/dirt bike. Can message me if interested/more detail?

Keep your eye on the Rose bikes sale outlet thing. We got my son a XS granite chief a couple of years ago from there for an insane discount, think we paid 900euros.

We bought this for £575.

FS, light, handles well. Good condition - so far all I've done is swap for some wintery tyres and a brake air bleed.

This one is heavier, but was £620

The Ragley looks nice, but possibly too small so he’d be out of it before I know it.

I did nearly get a Whyte 802 but for the seller labelling it a “ladies”. The argument it is unisex fell on deaf ears.......
