I’m collecting today from Manchester, via the train. Watch this space!
Tease. Was hoping for some pics of a nice new bike to further distract me from work.
Reported! NBD posts have to include pics of the actual bike. 🤬
I mean what if the train gets cancelled and then while you wait for the next one some scrotes nick the cables, then your car won't start and your bezzie mate is too busy to give you a lift cos he's making jellies for his kids birthday party and you have to wait til the weekend to pick up the bike?!?!?
Not NBD then is it!!!!!
I’m safely seated on the train, I already have a fat bike!
Watch this space!
Don't try to hype it up if it's something disappointing like a fat bike 😉
Or a road bike 🤬
I’ve got a road bike, well, audax bike!
Well, here you are!
Fuel injection, anti-lock brake, four whole gears, LED lighting, catalytic converter and around 180 miles to the gallon.
£3999.00 On the road!!
Winnats pass?
I like that a lot... like a 1950s show bike trying to predict bikes in the 21st Century. I'm guessing it's actually new new?
Winnats pass?
Yep, the bit right at the bottom by the cattle grid just a few metres up from Speedwell Cavern.
@kelvin Brand spanking new! Only my second new vehicle in 65 years, the other being an MZ 250 in 1979..
Yes, Winnats, I was freezing cold so dropped into Castleton to get warmed up. I’ve got all the gear as I have a Triumph America in the garage but work and then a shoulder injury has prevented it’s use, this is a way back, or if my grin is anything to go by, a replacement!
I’m planning some camping trips and selling my old Defender.
It makes me wonder why electric mountain bikes cost so much?
Very nice - how well will it do on the Stanmer singletrack tho? 😉
It’ll not be going off road except campsites, I’ve got a fatbike for the trails!
What is it?An updated Honda 50 or something.
Nice, could only be improved by having the leading link fork of the C90
User name doesn’t check out 🤣
@monkeycmonkeydo it’s an updated version of the 50/70/90, been around a while now but it’s now 125cc. @Rubber_Buccanneer I remember those forks, nice and comfortable until you braked, then the front end rose and went solid. Not conducive to good braking! These are brilliant combined with the disc brake.
My dad had a C90 to get to the lorry yard... and we lived on an unmaintained road... every pothole felt like a near crash experience. Bombproof though. That new thing looks a lot more refined at the front.
Not conducive to good braking!
No, but hugely entertaining 😀 You'd be surprised at how well one of those old C90s could survive laps of a field, flights of steps (up and down) and various other stupid things we put it through. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone took one around Stanmer as jokingly mentioned above
Nice looking bike mind and 125CC gives you a bit more punch for safety.👍
Does it have a higher top speed than the old C90?I wonder what MPG you will get in the real world as well.
Top speed 60, mpg is reliable, there is a YouTube contributor, Supercub Adventures, who regularly achieves 180 and has achieved 206mpg! He’s a bit on the “dry” side but very useful for maintenance tips. If I get 160mpg I will be happy!
My limited experience so far is that acceleration is excellent and 50mph is a comfortable speed, suspension is quite hard but it avoids the frame like spaghetti feeling of some light bikes. Brakes are excellent as are the lights.
Perfect for uplift duty
An update for anyone thinking of getting one - still running in and getting used to it. Latest mpg check - 160! This has been mostly urban routes and narrow lanes with very steep hills so I am very pleased. Got to find a nice chrome rack for it now to fit in with the classic look and to carry the shopping.

Hideous as they may be a top box is brilliant for practicality. Big enough to store your helmet and gloves and bonus points if it can be unclipped to use like a mini suitcase, so useful.
Is it me or is that mudguard quiet high off the front tyre? Probably a good reason for it I suppose.
The mudguard is fixed to the fork crown so is high to allow suspension movement - it’s all about optimising unsprung weight!
