They are great bikes aren't they.

Did you use a half-link chain to tension the singlespeed?

Ah. When the drive train on my "old" Scandal wears out I will probably SS it but will have to go the half-link / tensioner route.

You must have worn out a few ugly sticks building that up.

Firstly I think it looks great and I really, really want one. Secondly are you using a q/r or bolt-on for the rear hub? Thirdly what size is it and how tall are you?

No, the rear one isn't quite right. Please fix.

On One - check
Rigid - check
SS - check

Passes the STW test.

no scandium then?

Think they are, wasn't it that the new prototype frame wasn't scanium? There was a smokescrren of confusion and I couldn't work out WTF was going off with the situation after the yes/no/yes/no conversation that was going off on the OO site.

Eiother way they do look good and ride well, not too sure about the practicality of slot dropout and running gears though as it makes it a pain in the arse to remove wheel.

Don't need a front disk brake just use your toe end on the front tyre.

Think they are

nope, slots are not scandium.
The confusion was because they tested some none scandium scandals (slot proto's) and someone got confused and thought all the old geared scandal were just plain alu (they were/are scandium). New slot scandals are just palin old alu, not that there is much/any difference but its a bit cheeky that they cut out the scandium and still call it a scandal.

right: quick release on the rear hub with a bmx tensioner on the drive side

no scandium ๐Ÿ™

toe overlap isn't an issue there's about 6 inches of clearance

it's an 18 and i'm 5'11. was previously riding a 18" inbrd (26er) and the fit is spot on. It's a 100mm stem could proably add another 10/20mm for a xc race type position - although i wouldn't run 710mm bars for that! will probably flip the stem for a little less stretch and more height for enduro type stuff.

the bashring is a truvative one which came with the inbred when i bought it (complete build). I prefer not to run them on ss, for mud clearence, but i seem to have lost my short bolts.

oh and 2.4 racing ralphs are the future.

Almost the same bike but ti version (phone so not best pic)

I'm amazed and how comfy the combination of low pressure, carbon fork and ti bar is.

thomthumb - I am loving 2.4" racing ralphs on mine too although I found them a bit too wide on the rear wheel because the tyre kept buzzing my front mech. Not a problem when you are SS of course!

hi lee: rides nice - stiff, light and fast. gonna get some forks sorted (probably manitou minutes) and it'll be my perfect epic bike (doing a 24 solo this year!)

PP: i't the neighbors fence - they just seem to collect crap behind it! anyone want a broken kids trike, a rusty bbq, rabbit hutch or an old exercise nike!

orange: sam at singular cycles will sort you out. he's also got rim strips to fit if tubeless is your thing.
