Sorry - I've deleted everything because it appears I don't know how to use the forum anymore.
🙁
If you managed to edit your post, you're one step ahead of most of us, so congratulations for that.
Have another go, we're interested in your build!

New build! 2018 Trek Fuel Ex.

Probably the most time consuming frameset I’ve ever built up in over 25 years of mountain biking! The internal routing and associated trim, the Knock Block headset and boost rear all played their part.

It’s an 18.5” frame. I’m 5’8” and sadly the Ascend II 150mm dropper ended up too big for me. There’s not enough seatube space to have the dropper sitting with the collar flush so I had to buy a 120mm. I do have a Reverb with external routing that works beautifully but there’s no where to mount the hose and the it could also foul the linkage.

It’s (now) got a boost compatible Superstar chainring, Wolfstooth Magura dropper lever, Stan Arch gen 3 on hope Pro 4 hubs. I had to dremel some small slots in the stem to use the knock block system – hopefully this won’t kill me.

I’m running a 35mm length stem. It came shipped with a 60mm Bontrager which is just too long, and 40mm’s aren’t available until the end of Feb.

11 speed Shimano XT with SRAM cassette. Magura MT5 brakes

Forks came from bike-components.de - 2018 34 Float 29" 130 Grip Perf at €297. Bargain.

Hopefully out this weekend for my 40th birthday.

Nice. I like that!
Bloody hell! The preview looked good but the submission text is bolloxed.
Ah well there's some photos!
And lay off the garden! Our septic tank soak away is knackered so it's got to be dug up 🙁
yup, yup..thats all kinds of right. Looks like a very sweet ride mister, I would stealth out the wheels decals though.
Nice.
Barbells are a bit of a rusty embarrassment though.
ooo dumbbot, now you're talking!
how do you people spot these things!!!??
It;s all personal taste isn't it. For me I like a subtle looking bike, nae screaming neon colours that'll give you eye cancer and too much matchy coloured things just looks like you are trying too hard, less is more.
I'm not a fan of logo's splattered all over a bike either...the stealth logos on the fox fork look great, so why not.
Well thats what i'd do...
I'm with you there. Although I do like a flash of colour but not bright logos. Agree though, the forks look just right.
