Another set of BB bearings knackered. I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone recommend me a source of good quality BB30 bearings. Are ceramics more or less robust that steal?

Many thanks.

I use the cheapest ebay ones I can find. one year on and still going strong. Pop the seals off when you get them and ram with grease before install...

About 3 quid for my last set.

the size is 6806

Buy cheap, replace often with 6806's

Expensive bearings won't last any longer in an MTB BB. Pop plenty of grease in there when you're reassembling everything too. Usually you can buy them in packs of 10 for about the price of one Shimano Press fit BB, which I think is pretty good economics even if they don't last very long.

I was thinking of buying some "quality" bearings but I can see the "buy cheap, replace often" especially at £1.75 each

Order placed.

Many thanks.

I got some from On One for a couple of quid and they did the job nicely.
