I bought a new set of code 5s with 185mm rotors for my Tracer, after running for 3 rides the rear rotor is squealing and vibrating like mad, it's doing this when heated up, Ive tried a few things to stop but none have worked.

I'm using a G3 rotor which has been used with my juicy 7s and never made a peep. mind you my juicys used to be terrible with the G2 rotor, the G3 was the cure!

Here's what Ive did so far.

1) Cleaned the rotor and pads with brake cleaner, had no effect

2) Cheeked pads for glazing, look OK

3) Aligned pads so that they don't rub, still squeal

4) Aligned pads so that when the brakes are being applied the rotor doesn't move - made them 10x worse, so wont back to rotor not rubbing

5) Checked rotor bolts are torqued properly - OK

I'm at a loss, I'm assuming that G3 rotors are OK to run with code 5s ?

any help would be appreciated

I'm guessing with Avid tri angle mounting bolts - facing is not an issue.

Does anybody still put a dab of copperslip on the back of their pads?

My codes, not fives though squealed for a while then it went away. Persevere unless you have done something weird. Check all the tri align bits n bobs are in the right way around.

My juicy 5 rear brake used to vibrate on the back of my stumpy when hot, I upgraded to carbons with the same size rotor, some copperslip on the pads, a few washers under the tri align bit and it stopped,

Is there enough clearence between the rotor and caliper when hot? asin the outside edge of the disk

Thanks all, turns out that the pads got a little contaminated and I hadn't cleaned them properly,

I gave them a good clean with brake cleaner and a light rub with some sand paper, no noise any more Job done! ๐Ÿ˜€
