My uncle has asked me to help get his ancient rim brake Scott MTB working. Doesn't ride a lot, just local canal pootles, and does not want to buy a new bike. The front wheel appears to be shot - not had a look at it yet but from what he says i suspect not salvageable.
So where best to source a very cheap but still functional, rim brake 26" wheel?
Ebay?

The Raleigh/RSP ones in our lbs look pretty good value.
I've got one he can have if near Leeds. Not worth postage costs though.
likewise, if heavyish old stuff is OK I've prob got one. Southampton/Salisbury/Portsmouth
This for £17?
Or there is one in the warehouse deals (prob just an opened box, new wheel) for £8
Don't think they're QR though..
edit: or this for 20 euros - no idea on shipping though?
