Ok so I haven't ridden for a number of years, used to compete in XC and then moved to DH when I was a lot younger (now 34!) so it's been a while and my how things have changed! Anyhow last year I bought a Cannondale hardtail brand new which was never ridden for a year, still had stickers on it and manual on crossbar! Some work colleagues have been riding a bit lately and invited me to join them - they are riding mainly Bike Park in Wales and predominantly trails as oppose to purely DH.
So I decided the Cannondale wasn't going to cut it and rather than give it a go I decided to sell it whilst it was still as new, so that's gone. Now I bought a copy of MBUK to have a read of what's around and get an idea of prices.
I want to spend around £1500-£1700 on something that will tackle the ups as well as the downs and I keep reading about the Enduro style bikes. When I used to ride competitively Enduro didn't even exist so I am not up to speed of whah it comprises of however it seems they have quite relaxed geometry and decent travel, although I note only one front chain ring! How does this fair when trail riding and dealing with the ups?
The bikes I have seen in the sales at the moment which catchy my eye are -
Cube Stereo 160 HPA
Cube Stereo 140 HPA
Whyte T130
Cannondale Habit 4
Can anyone give me some pointers on the above bikes, am I looking at the right sort of bikes, are they good/bad/indifferent or should I be considering something completely different altogether?
Cheers
