My present to me, from me.

After eight years of ragging my 2017 Canyon Strive around I finally wanted something new.

Bought the rolling chassis from Raaw. Used the two year old SLX cranks from my Strive.

Fitted the air shock as I've seemingly gotten too fat for the coil..... Last time I weighed myself I was a svelte 71.2kg. with that I'm mind I ordered the 457lb spring, suitable for 70-75kg.  However, that was back in September. After several months of guzzling Weißbier and stuffing Schweinsbraten down my gob I'm now at 75.8kg.

Didn't want any brakes from SRAM. Wanted mineral oil and a change from Shimano. Ended up going for the TRP Evo Pro. Time will tell if that was a sound choice.

The Shimano XTR shifter/adapter I had on the Strive wasn't compatible with the TRPs so I ended up fitting the SRAM x-whatever shifter and mech that came with the Strive. When this wears out I might go basic and grab the MicroShift 10spd stuff. Convinced I don't need 11 speed, let alone 12. The SRAM will suffice for now.

The extra length of the Madonna meant I had to play around with the mounts so that everything fit in the van.

Not ridden in anger yet, but we're off to Italy on Jan 2nd and will be in Finale/Liguria for a couple of months, if not more, until the snow clears and the bike parks in Italy and France are open.

Was going to say the cables could do with some length taken off! Really nice. Still not used any Ohlins but that looks sweet. Seriously considered a jibb this year before settling on something else. Let us know how you get on with it!
