NBD for me yesterday.

picked up my new A150 from the delightful folks at Atherton Bikes.

figured a Dyfi afternoon might be a bit demanding on a first ride. Went to Llandegla on the way home.

Climbing - great. Descending - yay!

quite a different ride from my ~2015 Canyon Spectral Al 7.

First mtb I’ve had with 29” wheels.

Only deviations from spec I think are AXS shifting (marvellous) and Renthal bars.

Very nice, I'd like to try a bike with that DW6 suspension.

The A series bikes really are lovely looking things. Would love to try one at some point.

Bloody awesome. It's only the fact that i know i'll buy one that's stopping me testing an Atherton.. I can't afford 2 of the things !!

470 low (size 9 I believe).

definitely test one if you’re interested. And if you’ve not been, Dyfi is AN EXPERIENCE. Though this likely means you’ll end up buying one. My test ride on a 480 (I think) felt so good that I didn’t feel the need to try any others.

Direction post needs painting and fireroad needs edging.

Signs are well aligned though so some marks back for that.

Such a nice bike!

And with geometry basically having converged on what works best for most of us, and wheel sizes and axle width standards also appearing to have calmed down, it may be as close to a “bike for life” as anything ever is - they’ve built them so strong and tough!

It’s just a shame you can’t run transmission on them (but if that’s not your thing, no drama!).

lovely stuff

Yes. I see the A130 can run Transmission, but not the A150. Would’ve gone for it if it was possible. I expect physically you can, just not within warranty. I think I saw one running Transmission when I was at Dyfi’s cafe.

A slightly heretical question, but … what rear mudguard would folks run/are folks running on these for non-bike park trails?

Nice bike 😀

I'd love a go on one at the dyfi. Just as long as I didn't have to pay for it if I broke it

I'd suggest a ginormous mudhugger and loads of tape to stop it rubbing.

A dry bum is better than a pretty bike in the depths of winter

Shush or they might come and take it back off you 😉
