Well. New to me.

For a few years, I've had a single speed gravel/cross bike. Firstly, it was my old Saracen Hack (when I bought my posh gravel bike). Then, that frame died.

I then tried to monster-cross a rigid genesis fortitude, but it was a bit big for me, and not really light or lively enough.

Had a Cotic Escapade for a bit, which I set up SS. That was great, but a bit too short (ooof, the toe-overlap), and I ended up selling it to raise some funds to put towards a FS.

Then I got an On One Pompino. Ok. But too big for me, and crappy canti-brakes.

Enter the latest attempt ... A Genesis Day One SS:

It's a 2013 model, but in pretty nice condition.

I've popped some Hunt wheels on there that I had spare and set up tubeless with some old gravel tyres I had lying around.

It fits me! The brakes work. It rides nicely.

It'll get a set of SKS Edge Al mudguards that will be fitted all year round.

It'll be used for occasional commutes, quick 'nipping out' errands, and WFH lunch hour blasts when the roads and gravel are filthy, but I want to return home reasonably clean.

Not bad for £175!

(I know, I need to clear the leaves up!)

Very nice! Subtle gulf racing colours with the freehub spacers.

Why is your rear skewer the wrong way round?

i got a day one with alfine to commute a few years  back... cannot fault it

yours looks lots more fun, without double full mudguards and pannier rack, or the super heavy rear hub ofc.

And where are your Tuggnuts? Slot dropouts = Tuggnuts.  No if, no but - just the tuggnut!
