Staying near tywyn week after next and looking for a good day out riding somewhere that's not a trail centre preferably
Was originally going to do snowdon but it's a bit to far from were we are camping (would mean a 4am start)

I rode the mach trails before so was looking for something else, any ideas please

Great pre-brekkie loop out on this bridleway http://tinyurl.com/po5evm8 and back on this one to the cemetery http://tinyurl.com/pzt8sc9.

Great route both ways.

Cadair Idris?

It's a good 3 hour ride. Depending on your fitness it's about 2 hours pushing and riding to the top and then a half hour or so down. Plus a half hour for sandwiches at the top.

Good variety of terrain, some technical sections and some flat out blasts.

Get some funny looks when you take the bike to the summit, but it's got to be done, right?

Other than that, I think there's some stuff out barmouth way. I spent easter in Dolgellau and had a couple of rides mapped out (that i had found on the internet).

If they're likely to be of any interest I'll see if I can dig out the links.

I've ridden it a LOT ๐Ÿ˜€
If you want tech (and don't mind a big grass climb slog) then just do it anti clockwise (and make sure you do the cheeky bit that runs along side the stream on the way back...but I did'nt tell you that).

Cadair - http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/mtbroutes/cadair-idris/

Pont Scethin -> http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/mtbroutes/mawddach-estuary-and-pont-scethin/
/p>

These are the links I've got in my emails, don't think the Scethin route is too different to what Rorschach posted.

I thought that I had a couple of other routes in the running but can't find the links in my emails. Hope these help out though...

EDIT: maybe the Scethin route is, looks like a slightly longer route.

NB. I didn't ride the Scethin route in the end.

Scart Pont scethin in Tal y Bont, park in the Scethin Inn pub car park. Head toards Harlech on the main road. After about half a mile turn right. Ride up the steep tarmac roadt. You will eventually see a carpark on your right and a farm road straight after. Take this towardps the bridge (pont Scethin). Then follow the routes. On the way down take the footpath (carefully and illegally) at the end, down the steps and back to the car where you can then it in the beer garden and enjoy a beverage of your choice before returning to family. Have a look on an OS map, it's quite obvious.
