What cameras are people using? Any recommendations for a good, tough compact that goes from off to reasy to shoot very quickly?

Living by the coast my most common XC trail is the following:

And when I can get there:

I hope these images work
Its a shame I have none with the sun out

Mattamomo - is that Golden Cap in the distance in your first shot? +2 for the camera query.

Yes I believe it MAY be in the distance, all though I am not 100%, sometimes I ride from Seaton and just see where I end up along the coast, that was about 15-20 miles along the coast from Seaton so it would make sense.
P.S if you want a work out, then that route will have you begging for a ride home, its harder knowing there is no way to be picked up along the way :/

Near Whaley Bridge, on the edge of the Peak District 😀

Mont Bouquet, SW France. 12 miles to get there, bugger of a climb, (440m in 3 miles) but crazy/fun descent.

Edit - how do you get pictures on here anyhow?? (I know I'm back at the trailing edge of technology but WTF? How hard can it be..?) 😯

Druidh is the second rider and jimmy is the first. It was some evening for sun but the crappy wee lens on the iphone has got reflective problems sadly.

I'm using a Panasonic LX5. Love it. I hardly ever take my Canon 500D out the house these days

mattamomo - drop me an email (addy in profile) & I'll see what I can do.

I've got lots of GPX files or some routes as word docs, let me know which you can open/read etc.

I'm up there on Monday if you want to join the fun, riding out from Princetown 🙂

The last one? It is indeed, you should try to get your self up here sometime. When the weather's good, it's awesome. Today on the other had, has been grim.

Twang

That's me on Jocks Road off Glen Clova. Lovely tech descent. Kilbo Path is up that way too.

Others are Carn Ban Mor, cairn off of The Burma Road up by Aviemore and Ben a Ghlo traverse near Pitlochry.

Jocks Road is my favourite. Not the longest but lots of fun!
