Just bought a Raceface 30t narrow-wide chainring and I cannot get the chain to seat on to the chain ring; every half turn or so the chain sits up on top of the teeth.
Its as if the teeth are spaced too far apart to fit consecutively between the links and the chain pins sit directly on top of the chainring teeth after a half turn or so. In the extreme gears (1 an 9) the chain pops off.
I Have tried a cheapo Halfords chain and a Sram PC981 and get the same results. Also tried shortening the chain try and put more tension in to the chain. Any tips?

Nope, can't find any (brand new chain). might try shortening the chain further.
Things to check, Bottom bracket spaced correctly with adapters,Chain ring on the right way round,back wheel seated correctly,
