Do nw chain rings clear mud better than a standard chain ring?

Not that I've noticed but they definitely make a lot more grinding noise.

They're a bit worse and noisy IME, until they've worn a little. It's never been a problem though, they still hold the chain much better than a normal ring.

Depends on the mud tbh, really sticky stuff can be a bit worse- if it gums up on the machined surfaces it can lift the chain more easily than a normal ring (some rings are better for this than others, with scallops and mud clearing). But mostly it's just the same

BUT imo it's not really that simple, because if Iw as using a standard ring I'd also be using a full chainguide, and that makes mud management totally different. Narrow/wide definitely clears better than standard + top guide never mind a full guide.

Several feet? Are you riding in the severn estuary?
