Did it a few weeks ago, went from Staveley-Kentmere-Gatesgarth-Haweswater-Nan Bield-Kentmere-Staveley. Similar weather when we did it. I remember doing Nan Bield years ago Except we went down it towards Haweswater, carried down most of the way IIR. I think my 'suspension' in those days was a Girvin Flex-stem!

Awesome!!. One of my fav routes in the lakes if you stick Garburn on the end too.

The first picture, the big rock in front of the step down is where Junkyard (from here) smashed his face to bits. Glad to see all the Blood has been washed away.

A Cracking little excursion up North, the trails and scenery was almost as good as Dartmoor ๐Ÿ˜‰ Totally Crag-Ratastic evening chillouts as well {Belch!}

one of my fav UK descents

By far the longest and best descent I've done in this country. Just wish I didn't live so far away from real mountains ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I'd be suicidal if I didn't have Dartmoor on my doorstep 8)

Lovely pics - I was running round there in the lakes mountain trial 2 weeks back and they bring the scenery back to me...

Hope that dead sheep hadn't been there long, as I had a drink from a couple of the streams near small water.

I was totally underwhelmed by the Nan Bield descent, far too pedally after the initial switchbacks. Could just because it was at the end of a long day but none of us thought it was worth it for the amount of hike a bike. Now Rossett Ghyll, that's a descent, although I didn't have time to push all the way to the top, approx 45 mins carrying and nearly 15 mins to get back to the Old Dungeon for a well earned pint.
