Sitting under the bars of a 92 Steel S-works (SS of course) are 3 tiny XPGs from Luminous (many thanks are due)

4 81650's in a holder from Turbo Ferret (more thanks) plus a 3021 buckpuck at 1amp
[IMG] [/IMG]
Very dubious unscientific beam shots from point and shoot..
Tesco torch - to human eye torch is better than this photo suggests.
[IMG] [/IMG]
3 XPE - a more focused beam for longer throw on helmet
[IMG] [/IMG]

3 XPG on the bike - wider beam and more "natural" light.

Rode on just the bar mounted XPG's for a couple of hours as mate borrowed the helmet XPE's. I prefer the wider, slightly yellow beam of the tiny XPG's.

Many thanks to Luminous and Turbo ferret for ideas. Total cost £22 for LEDS, optics and switch. The rest is a hash up of epoxy, computer heatsinks, clear perspex samples, spare wire and clamps. Battery, holder and buckpuck was reused from previous project. These would be about £40... at a guess. So a Bastid light is still cheaper 🙂

Cool, liking the brown wiring from the motor parts shop too! Reckon you'll do another or did this annoy you too much to bother?

Wally.

Hi. I see you've finally finished it.

Plenty of cooling with that heatsink, where did you get it from ?.

Glad you found a use for the LEDs and bits I sent you.

Now you'll have to have a crack at Trouties 700 lumen magicshine killer.

😉

EDIT: A Magicshine light may be cheaper, but I reckon you're getting more lumens.

I've been informed that apparently a few chaps in Germany measured a Magicshine at 550 lumens.
You running 3 LEDs at 1A should be much higher than that.

But eitherway, so long as you're happy with the results.

Love the light, proper garden shed bodge job, love it.

You're garden is a tip however and you should be ashamed 🙂

Shed is a 9 pallet DIY job with shiplap slapped on.
CPU from a very old CPU heatsink - copper and aluminium construction
The beam shots are not in my garden - but a bit of "shared" land - still a tip though 🙂

Very happy with results - I love a tiny out of the way design.
