I've come to my pc earlier & it won't boot up ,it's gets so far then the windows logo just sits on the middle of the screen,I've tried re/booting it 5/6 tomes & it does it every time .
Any ideas ?,can I put it into Safe mode ??,if so how do
I do it please ?.

to get into safe mode press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. Don't worry if it doesn't boot up the chances are all your data will be okay on the hard drive. Good luck.

Another thing to try is changing the battery on the motherboard.
Same thing was happening to my computer.
Also try going into the BIOS and setting 'Failsafe' options if you can (usually on the furthest right tab)
switch off computer.unplug mains cable, push and hold on buton while inserting mains cable.
worked for me,
or you may have someting connected which is stoping startup, remove all no esential usb leads ansd try again, with mine it was a camera.
I'll certainley try all of the above guys thx,at the minute it still won't boot up,but my pals comin in the am who can usually sort stuff like this ,thx again !.
Windows is buggeredup. Do you have the install DVD
