Rides a dream, and really cheap too, need to go to Chain Reaction and get mud guards now for the wet commute home.

Comments?

Looks fast, even when it's not moving.

How do you find those grips? Been thinknig about getting some like that for a while.

i would recommend a rack and a pair of these

i find both crucial on my town bike.

Nice. I think things like this are unfairly under rated for commuting/just-getting-around riding.

I've got some of the Ergon ones on my MTB and I wonder if the effect is something you'd notice when you didn't have them any more rather than when you're using them, if that makes sense! If I were to buy another bike that didn't have them I wouldn't immediately rush out to get some on it. One nice thing is that it's easier to sort of rest your palm on the end of the bars when spinning up fireroads or whatever.

Yep, 'guards and a rack will be ideal. Looks emminently practical, and also rideable without having to get togged out in cycling clobber.

Those pedals are a good rec. - means you can use normal person footwear....

Looks fast, the grips are brilliant when you get used to them, I'm running them on a couple of my bikes and they are as good as the ergons on one of the others.

I've got an Altura Dryline Urban (think thats what its called) Its ok, but the drawstring lasted about 1 week - soon replaced it with some 3mm cord from the climbing shop. Have a cheap Lidl number for the other side that rarely used - clips are nowhere near as good, but it does the job for the occasional big shops.

Drylines are nice Pete - I use them for touring. Ortlieb are the dogs danglies. Very strong, nice colours (there's a blue). I don't like the idea of no external pockets though.

As for racks, either the standard Blackburn, a Topeak or (if you want to be flash) a Tubus.

I'm thinking some commuter bikes are seriously under-rated. We're selling a few off on ebay at the moment and if there was room in the garage, and we had the right size, I'd be grabbing one myself.
