My mrs is very happy with her fitbit charge2. It does seem pretty impressive and is definitely a motivator, but be prepared for constant HR updates and for her to jump out of bed at 11.30pm and start running around because Karen from accounting is beating her at a step challenge. On the plus side I've learnt you go into fat burn mode while taking a dump!

I got a Garmin Vivofit for less than £20 on eBay. Does all that fitness tracker stuff but also connects to a garmin hrm belt.

Google Fit app?

I've recently received a Sony Smar****ch 3, but given how I don't have a fancy Android phone to make use of some features, so far I'm not finding it any better than my Nexus 7 2013 tablet as regards fitness apps.

Swapped from Fitbit to Garmin recently (more the GPS tracker end of things than the fitness bands) due to wrist rot from the Fitbit.

Got to say, I am pretty impressed with it, but it is a harder task master than the Fitbit was!!!! My steps have dropped a lot, and it seems the number of flights of stairs I go up and down has collapsed too! Just going to have to do more to get up to target 😉

The GPS and HRM bits seem to work pretty well though - and I can go swimming in it, unlike the Fitbit, which may or may not be relevant.

I got my wife the apple watch. An added bonus is she doesn't miss my calls when out shopping now!

Up Jawbone. Great bit of kit - under 20 quid on ebay and the app it comes with is superb, breaks down your sleep, brilliant 'buzzing' alarm and of course really accurate with the steps. Me and the Mrs got one each.

My wife has the FitBit Flex 2. She wanted a FitBit and it's the only FitBit that is waterproof and will also track swimming. The FitBit App is pretty good too. There are bling accessories for the Flex 2 .... but be warned they cost as much as the unit itself! Other Fitbits were ruled out as they were just too big on her wrist, plus they lack waterproof-ness and swim tracking.
The Misfit Ray is similar to the FitBit Flex 2 in terms of functionality and has a much longer battery life.

I've got a Garmin Vivosmart HR+, which if you can get it at the right price is very good value indeed. Activity tracking, HR, GPS and waterproof. Garmin Connect App syncs with Strava too.

Cheapest I've seen today @ £129 http://www.decathlon.co.uk/vivosmart-hr-monitor-blue-id_8378041.html

There was a price hike to £199 after Christmas (Brexit?) but some places still have it at a reasonable price

My wife's fitbit is currently accurately tracking the activity of the bedside table.
It's been doing that for months now.

I might convince her to sell it.

On my third Fitbit chargeHR, 2 have fallen to bits but replaced under warranty. GF not had any issues with the smaller one. Love the App but not sure they are that accurate, more ball park. The challenges are fun and manage to motivate me! Anything that gets me moving can't be bad!

Don't sell it.

Where would keep the alarm clock and the lamp?

....and the fitbit?
