Went back to my old riding patch and came across this unit storing Post Office bikes!

Which is yours?
Edit: substitute the postie bikes with Orange 5's and that looks like the racks outside the cafe at Llandegla on a Saturday. ๐
yeah but you do feel a little heart bleed
What will they do with them?
Scrap, send to Africa, sell to On One?
Are they for sale?
Want.
Want.
If its the Pashley Couriers they use you would not want one when you rode it, horrible heavy things.
Boris bikes?
They're Pashley Mailstars - when we designed the Paper Bicycle it was originally for RM, and we got ahold of a bunch of Mailstars that the posties had wrecked, and designed a bike that they couldn't break ๐
I'm seriously looking for a postie bike, as a pub bike.
Sad,.i.know. ๐
Waiting to be shipped to Africa!
I'm seriously looking for a postie bike
Yeah, just been looking at eBay and the Pashley website.
Wow - that's a lot of metal. I hope they find something worthwhile here or abroad to do with them.
On a personal note, I do quite fancy one as a semi car-replacement project. Mudguards, trouser guards, luggage carrier. Could do half a weekly shop. Hell I could even have one at each train station either end of my commute!
Bit of a sad sight, that. ๐
God I'd love to be let loose in there. ๐
Are they really heading for Africa...?
Went back to my old riding patch
You back in WS13 Rich...?
Just a couple of days Paul back in Kendal now ,was a bit damp on the Monkey yesterday!
ours get taken from us next month, gonna be a sad day. plus im the office mechanic so with no bikes to fix im gonna have to now go on the morning sorting, even more sad!
Get on the sorting Russ.....lol
I have just realised your user name is Postie Rich
I have always read it as Posterier Itch
LOL
Posterior Itch amuses Grannies Ring
Is it just my mind?
Ours went for scrap in Gloucestershire but if you wanted one you could just take one. Most never bothered.Could use them for weightlifting .Mind the new tyres soon went they were worth having.
Mailstars were awfull to ride, the Millenium bike was the daddy.
The stash of Park tools and Kestral bikestands would make your eyes ๐ฏ
are they getting rid of them on masse then
if you were offered to take one, Im surprised there arent loads on ebay, had a quick look
not allowed to sell on insurance issues all bikes getting phased out by the end of 2013!
I agree, Rich. Mine weighed around 40lb unladen...Standing up and stomping a mailstar with 2 x full pouches is a terrifying experience! Gets you bloody fit though! And lets not get started on stopping the thing with smoking drum brakes ๐
I was clocking 22 miles a day on mine and got well fit but now in the van I find it twice as hard walking for 4 odd hours.
Lots of posties on here ๐ I,m in an office full of roadies even though I work in an mtb mecca ๐
Mines still at the DO... If I had the space I'd ask to buy it..
Unlike my knackered combo ๐
Edit - as Rich said RM wont let you buy them due to insurance... Can't understand why, they seem to shift the vans on easily enough...
Your asking the wrong people.Dont ask to buy it ask to have it.As long as you paint it another colour or take the Royal Mail stickers off no problem. So typical with RM every office works in different ways ๐
i found wally! (wear a bobble hat next time)
