..and very nice it is too!

Bought this frame only to replace a 853 PA, and so far so good- very capable. I may shorten the forks to 120, seeing as they are already taller than intended due to the headset fitted.. but we will see!

X-fusion Trace
Slx chainset/XT 11-36/Zee mech/Blackspire 30t nw/MRP carbon bash
Flow Ex/Hope wheels, Specialized Ground Control tyres (tubeless)
Straitline stem, Reverb etc

First proper ride up the Kilpatrick hills was interesting (lots of hike-a-bike)

OP, did you cycle up the road past Gavinburn Cottages or did you take that second pic on your way down?

Not a local but stayed at Gavinburn last summer when the weather was silly good. Great location.

I'll admit to struggling bit going up that road....1x9 32/34 and p-poor fitness caught me out a bit.

Nice bike by the way.

Could you please amend the thread title - "My bike is a Halfords bike, will I die?" 😆

benz, yes cycled (most of it, its a slog!) that way up before heading over the top. It was a LOT more fun going down it

Certainly one of the better £80 frames I've owned, and don't regret not getting a Solaris/Trans-am etc

^^^ yes, awkward road up, and it gets steeper as you go round the corner towards the gate 🙁 always a good fitness test indeed !!!

Bike looks tidy 🙂

So long as you get someone competent to assemble them or check them over after purchase, there are some actual proper bikes in Halfords that are decent enough. There are also a lot of crap including BSOs.

Still, my first full sus was a GT i-drive from Halfords and for £900 a good bike at the time. Fairly good spec for the price.
