Howdy all...
With my garage resembling a mini halfrauds (stroke aldins cave) I'm looking at insuring all my families steeds in a oner.

Can anyone recommend a good option?

Pedalcover aren't brokers, they're just underwritten by Axa. they'd be my recommendation.

John Lewis are underwritten by RSA, as are Nationwide, they're also the parent company of Moreth>n. They've come up a couple of times on threads lately, although they never used to cover any one bike over £4K.

We have four specified on our household policy with ESure. House, contents and bikes just renewed for £310.

With John Lewis we had to go through the special products part of their insurance. Will look at pedalcover when renewal comes around

If pedalcover isn't a broker why are they charging me £70 broker fee.

John Lewis Specialist here. Covers upto £1k bikes included, modest payment above that. (My sons Five is £38/yr). They are also pragmatic in not requiring specific locks or similar - basically if it's behind a door, locked to something Immoveable or being ridden or in eyesight, it's covered.

JL also cover our canoes and other kit, free landlord cover etc etc, do IMO, worth the extra £100 over 'cheap' insurance, and half what pedalcover wanted for a policy.

JL wouldn't cover our canoes. I think because they are 14 and 15'.

Yes JL is specialist cover if the bike is over a 1000K but their cover is quite substantial.

also if you have a crash it's covered (at least that's what they told me)

I used to be with esure, but they like to charge you for making changes to the policy e.g. if you change or add a bike. I'm now with Pedal Cover, you don't need to specify your bike(s), just keep records of the spec and pictures etc in case of having to claim; so no extra charges!

Pedal cover are brokers, they have set up a scheme which is underwritten by AXA which only they have access to. In reality its a standard AXA house insurance policy but with some key policy extensions when it comes to bikes.

To the OP, pedal covers cover is good. iirc (I could be wrong it's a while since I reviewed the policy - but it was good enough for me to sign up to) it's up to 15k on bikes at home (in the house, garage or outbuildings) and 9k away from home including in / on cars (usually excluded). Also includes accidental damage and theft if someone nicks off you while out riding it (i.e. Not locked up). As mentioned it's a house insurance policy though, not separate bike insurance

I was with pedalcover but Barclays was £100 cheaper even though I specified 0 excess for buildings and contents as well as accidental cover. Also covers the bikes if stolen from you in person. I asked about in the car and that would count as an immovable object as long as bike was locked to it. Obviously only good if your most expensive bike cost less than 3.5k.
