Whats the deal then?

I realise that it's an aesthetic disaster fitting some kind of mud guard to a full suss bike, especially something like a Mega :$

I've been MTFUing for over a year and now my arse is cold, wet and generally full of grit. My faithful Endura Singletrack shorts have a worn patch up the back from Peak grit etc.

Whats the solution then? one of them there butt defender things? a proper guard? waterproof shorts*?

*im not sure how long they'll be waterproof with the grinding paste thats trashed the singletracks.

Both. Who gives a toss about fashion, I like being warm and dry.

Plus, you're a grown man riding a bike - you look like a tool anyway.

Guard first, shorts later if required. This way you will have the least sweaty bum solution

For me it's just mudguards if the trails are wet/muddy but it's not raining, if it's raining/likely to rain then waterproof shorts as well (+ knee-length sealskinz to complete the 'special' look, it's not like I'm trying to pull whilst out on a wet & muddy MTB ride so who cares...)

So wet, it seems I had to say it twice.
