Does anyone know if Ultegra 6700 STI shifters are compatible with the 6600 groupset? I'd imagine they would work but am not 100% sure.

Cheers!

front mech pull and brake cable pull is slightly different. If it's a double or compact, the front mech pull difference shouldn't be a problem (I run one fine), though you may have problems with a triple. The brake cable pull is noticeable - the 6700 lever pulls more brake cable, so with 6600 calipers will feed hard/wooden & down on power slightly.

Both spoken with experience of the 5700 & 5600 groups, but the differences are the same with 6700/6600.

Thanks cp. It's for a 6603 triple chainset so I might have to rethink my plans.

the solution to the front mech is get a 6700 or 5700 series front mech... wont cost much in the grand scheme of things compared to the shifter cost!

OK, the difference in brake feel you mention is interesting. As long as I'm not acutally losing any braking force, I guess I could get used to less modulation.

EDIT: Thanks again, by the way!

Works perfectly on mine & has done for 8 months so far, although I've got 105 brake callipers not Ultegra.
Shifting is faultless with 6600 mechs (double set up though, not triple)
