My lad is growing at a rapid rate and he needs some new shoes having out grown (and lost !?!) my spare pair.

Sports Direct are knocking these out for £27 so may give them a punt as he will out grow them in 6 months.

Looking at the price point it got me thinking...

a) Are they cheap because they are rubbish?
b) Are they cheap because Sports Direct are undercutting everyone else?
c) Are we being done over by "branded" suppliers as my quite similar looking shoes were 6x the price?
d) All of the above?

Good or bad, that MSRP is certainly optimistic!

They appear to be more foot shaped than a lot of other shoes.

They're junk. They're very flexible so not at all comfortable.

Cue long thread about the good old days of Muddy Fox and the bad not-so-old days of Mike Ashley.

FWIW the Muddy Fox brand is now pish and that in itself is a travesty.

The shoes in question will be fine precisely because of his age. ie. he'll be growing out of them just as they fall apart.

I own a pair op. I only use them for Zwift.

The sole is a little to flexible and can result in hot spots.

If it'used in the wet/mud they have a reputation for the inner soles falling apart.

For Zwift, they are "ok". Outdoors in the muck. Nah.

They are garbage and will die in a matter of weeks.

Ask me how I know.
They went in the bin and were replaced with decent Giro flats.

Thanks for the first hand experiences. I'll give them a swerve as he does a lot of miles.

Anyone tried these 😉 ?

What size is he HtS? If he’s a euro 44 I might have a spare pair of something or other.

HtS, I’ve got a very usable pair of Shimano MT41s in a 44 which he can have if he’s willing to wear an extra pair of socks? PM me with your email and I’ll send you a pic.

A mate was given a pair of Muddyfox spd shoes as a surprise xmas gift by his 'outlaws' a few years ago. We got about 3 miles from his van on the boxing day before both cleats tore clean off the shoes along with a chunk of the soles. Flat pedal shoes may last a bit better but personally I wouldn't spend a single penny at any of Mike Ashley's businesses

Had 2 pairs of these, superbly comfortable, and waterproof as well, wash under a tap,tke spd mtb cleats and you can walk properley in them, front studs can be unscrewed as well, on second pair now, as first pair just wore out after a few years, muddy use.

try local shops for stock,as they are not listed on website as which stores have stock.
