When you first get glasses, you know they help but you feel like a bit of a dick with them on. However, after getting completely soaked through the other day on my commute I figured it was needed.

Wake up this morning, looks like its raining a bit, good chance to try them out, just a pity its freezing bloody rain and the first part of my commute is about 4km downhill! The only part of me not soaked was my arse and they kept the spray off my front wheel out of my face. I also discovered my waterproof jacket isn't so waterproof since I washed it and my 5-10's hold a lot of water!

There can't be many people who commute on a bike with mudguards AND Domains.

That looks mental. I love the idea that it's a commuter, and I actually quite like the look of the mudguards on it. I'd also like to see a big ol' headlamp and battery pack in the mix.

Who's is that brown Chromag Samurai with the mudguard? Always like that bike as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

not really, can't say i really notice any tyre noise, maybe because i'm too busy making motor bike noises braaaap braaaap ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry, you'll just have to settle for little flahsy LED's

Those mudguards, especially the Moto style front one really don't do the bike any favours in the looks department
Can you even see your front wheel when riding?

IMO the latest Crud rear and front downtube ones look the best (As in least worst) and then stick a RRP fork mudguard to stop the front spray

Nope! Not really essential on the commute though, they'll come off for proper riding

I did a year commutimg on a subzero with 2005 66RC forks, 2.5 supertacky tyres, and general DH type parts. Fitness improves no end ๐Ÿ™‚ (although getting overtaken by old ladies on shoppers is annoying ๐Ÿ™ )

If you've ever got used to riding with a fender, then seeing your front wheel is a thing of the past. As is picking the grit out of your eyes at the bottom of each downhill ๐Ÿ˜‰ It's not just looks but function as well

The front fender is a top product.

I like the new Crud front fender, big step forward, it's almost exactly half as good as a Shockboard. Maybe next year they'll finish the job and make a proper crown-mounted guard.

I hate putting mudguards on my bike, but as far as the minging pieces of shite go, I found this combo pretty effective on my last bike.......

Those handlebar mounted monstrosities are a step too far though.

Why would you need to see your front wheel? I am looking down the trail where I want to go not at my front wheel. A fork mounted mudguard turns side to side with your wheel anyway

i must say TJ when the goings technical like some of the devils stair case or bits of the laggan black etc (on my race bike anyway) i like to be able to see my front wheel for accurate placement to ensure i get over things. Did ride DH for years with a THE fender on marzocchi monsters when i was younger though - couldnt see nor move the front wheel back then - didnt matter where it went , rocks quivered and ran away when monsters came near :d

for general riding and trails im happy not seeing it.
