Hey peeps. Thinking about going holiday to Sardinia. I like to get away for a day of MTB (now eMTB) while on holiday. Has anyone been biking over there?

Only road riding (which was great!).

However there's loads of good MTB and it's all pretty open access, there's nothing there about "thou shalt not ride on footpaths" or anything, it's (generally) a case of if there's a trail you can ride it.

The main tourist areas are around Cagliari (the capital) and Olbia up on the NE corner, those are the two main places that flights go to. We always stayed in Alghero on the NW side cos Ryanair flew there, not sure that's the case any more. EasyJet use Olbia.

Always pretty reliable weather as well - cold mornings in the off-season (we used to go March time) but then warming up nicely by the afternoon. Don't think we ever had any rain!

I think we will be flying to Olbia. I did a search and there appears to be a couple of guiding companies up that way. I might drop them a line to see what they've got in terms of bikes and routes. May be a non starter as I need an XXL bike being a tall lad.
