I have a wedding to attend in new York next year (shucks!) which will probably wipeout the chance of an MTB holiday. However I just thought I could tag a 2nd week onto the holiday and go biking somewhere in the eastern united states.
So......where is the equivalent if whistler/alps on the east coast. I've had a quick look at platte kill, but doesn't look, that great for more than two days biking (?).
Any input into any other locations available to me would be great.

Windham has some DH trails, not sure if there's enough for a couple of days but worth a look.
