There isn't any issue if the cranks are running s/s is there, plus chainline can be tweeked with converter spacers.
Got a Raceface Evolve XC spider which although is a tripple MTB spider a sticker on the arm says for use on 108 bottom brackets?
Any way I'm ok with this aren't I.

Yeah, so long as you can get the chainline ok it's fine.

think as long as it'll fit the shell, think with shimano the mtb spindle is shorter than on road? maybe its other way round?

been a while since i looked at both alongside but i think there was a prob when thought about doing this before

EDIT: but you're not even talking about a shimano one *sigh* ill get my coat
