Any idea on how to mount a multi tool to the bottom of a bottle cage?

I know you can buy the Topeak and Specialized bottle cages with storage on the bottom of the cage

Ive got a Specialized Swat bandit on the saddle for a 29er tube, Co2 cannister, split link spares etc.. and there is no room to fit the multi tool there, plus a small hand pump on the side of the bottle cage

I need to use my current multi tool (has everything i need for this particular bike) and i need to use the current bottle cage (colour matches the bike and suits the frame design)

Wondered if there was some kind of cheap rail clamp that had rubber straps so you could clamp it to the bottle cage then use the rubber straps to hold the multi tool?

Not interested in One up EDC or Spesh Swat tool for the steerer tube (have one of those on my emtb) it needs to be mounted under my current bottle cage (yes im fussy!!!)

Velcro to the rescue!

Looks like it should work well, nice and secure, even more once the bottle is in the cage, relatively easy to remove when on the trail, just might need to make up a neoprene type sleeve for the multi tool to sit in to stop it getting covered in crap/wet

This looks like a kinda cool and free way to keep a multi tool clean and dry

Velcro strap, ‘enduro’ strap or a small pouch/bag?

My vote is for stashing it inside a section of old inner tube and strapping with doublesided velcro. I put my spare tube inside a section of old motorbike innertube. Keeps it clean and lasts longer.
