Mountain biking San Diego ?

In San Diego for a meeting next week and may end up with time on the following Saturday before flying home - anyone know of MTB over there that's any good - any good places to rent bikes ?

Long time ago but I did a well known trail (think it was featured in Bike mag) called Anderson's Trail, it was pretty good from memory

I was there a couple of weeks ago, there is a bike shop in the gaslight district that hires road & mtb but when I looked there isnt much you can easily get to from the city without riding a long way on roads. I guess if you have a car maybe a bit easier.

so I hired a road bike. went out to point lomo one day and then got the ferry over to the coranado peninsula the next.
