Last November we went to Majorca for a bit of winter mountain biking and it was very good, this year its a toss up between going back to majorca or going to malaga. Anyone got any views as to which would be best? Malaga appeals because of the cable car access.

Also can anyone point us at some good routes in malaga (we're fairly faimiliar with the routes in Majorca now), I've been reading about the cable car there, so anything utilising this would be good, but we're not full on downhillers/free riders, we like fast swoopy single track.

Any other info/opions about Malaga will be gratefully received.

switchbacksDH.com do some routs (tracks) that start at the chairlift (but they use a minibus).

Don't be too intimidated by the DH bit, I'm not a DH'er and really enjoyed it, well upuntill day 3 when i enjoyed myself a little too much and got a bit cocky trying to jump a double well beyond my ability and broke my arm, 3 days of sitting on my arse reading a book after that.

There are loads of locals (25% unemployment probably helps) riding arround, often we'd see the same guys each day on different hills.

Stunning singletrack rides with plenty of bus uplift during the day & fantastic après-bike on the coast at night.

Based 10 minutes drive from the cable-car but we use the mini-bus to access the tracks there.
