I have been coming on holiday to Marmaris for 9 years and have never seen any good mountain bikes for hire, has anyone been here and found any. I have seen some better bikes about this year, mostly Trek and Merida but they have not been for hire. I saw a group today all on Treks but was to slow in going to ask if they were local hires.
Tried to hire mountain bikes out there last year. Saw about 20 Scott Scales parked near our resort and asked if I could hire one. Unfortunately they were part of a (French) leisure holiday package.
The mountains along the coast look like they would have fantastic single track.
Might be a business opportunity here...
I have been running in the hills around Marmaris every since my first visit and there are loads of fire roads and track which would be great for bikes. I have looked on maps and google earh as well as what I have seen when out in the car and there looks like there is load more.
I have thought about starting a bike hire and guided ride but thinking is about as var as it gets, maybe I should just go for it.
Seen lots of Mountain bikes for hire...but they were all BSO, no "real" bikes that I could find anyway.
I've never had any joy in turkey, that was round Chalis beach and Kalkan though - apparently there's a place in fetyhie (sp?) but thats not much use to ya 😀
I even thought about sending a bike ahead with FedEx or other such company bit I think it was going to be about £200. each way. I know there are shops that I have seen in Istanbul that sell the usual suspects but that is also not much good.
Kipa-tesco had one for sale for 189 lira- £66. but I gave it a miss 😀
