Does anyone use a mountain bike related 'app' on their i-phone ?

I've been working on producing one with a development company for a couple of months now (unfortunately can't give much away about it ๐Ÿ™ Should be ready soon though !

What type of application the collective STW Massive like to see ? Trail guides, nearest bothy / pub for those epic rides, distance ridden / climbed / descended, nearest singletrack forum reader etc.. etc...

iPhone client for Ascent would be cool, as would a decent bike-specific training diary.

*Waits for someone to tell me they already exist ๐Ÿ˜†

a decent training diary would be brilliant... but none exists as far as I can see. Looking forward to Memory Map app.

Something that utilizes the GPS perhaps, although generally when I am on the mountain bike, the iphone stays at home/in the car.

Something that had trails conditions report, with updates on FC work/closures for trail centres, also a library of natural XC routes with maps, that you could print out would be good.

I'd like to see one on Android - can you port it? Something like a that combines features from Velox and Google Mytracks would be good - must be able to output GPX tracks too.

training diary - something that output your training sessions to iCal - but also gave pointers as to what you should be doing and when (ie something like the article in this months magazine, where you can input when your event(s) is/ are - and the app creates a traing schedule with hard days/ recovery days/ easy weeks/ hard weeks/ tapering etc. This would be the start - but you could then tweak the schedule around work etc to suit you.

you could then mark off if you have completed a session or not, and if you miss one due to illness or whatever it could re-schedule the routine maybe to take this into account?

or just lots of pictures of nice bikes would be good!

I use Garmin 305 on the bike because its waterproof and simple. I wouldn't let my iPhone anywhere near my bike-its too valuable, delicate and definitely not waterproof. Therefore can't think of an app that would be useful.

iPhone = phone, music and entertainment
Garmin = bike computer

Something to freeze time would be good.
Except for me obviously.

I use runkeeper to track runs, would be better if was dedicated more to cycling, with height ascended shown in the stats. Mind you I like that it's free too :o)

runkeeper shows you a height profile on the website. At least it does with the pro version.

Something like Foursquare/Doppler with trail conditions postable by people (common STW threads) and maybe meet ups. Other than that I've got the GPS to take care of things

think ginster is right. iphone on a bike is a recipe for disaster.

apparently they have little tabs at either end to measure water ingress, and if it goes over a predetermined limit, then no warranty.

seems to be as much as switching it on and off with damp hands will do it. so god knows what mtbing would do...
