[Closed] Morzine to Alpe D'Huez without a car?

This looks increasingly like a possibility due to limited car space in the group I'm going with. I'm doing the Mega, but the week before it we're mucking about in Morzine.

Just wondered if anyone had experience of the trains (how easy they are to use, how many changes, how much time I should allow?) or any transfer companies you've used that may be cheaper?

(I may also be sneakily trying to cadge a lift if anyone's going...)

Train will involve lots of changes and take a while. You'd have to go down to Thonon les Bains (I think), then get a train to Grenoble. Short transfer (buses available) from there to Alpe d'Huez.

its not too easy to do without a car...

however, I may have room in my van - most likely driving down on the sunday night or early Monday morning.

- I can't promise anything just yet, but get in touch nearer the time if you still need a lift. Some petrol money will do.
