Right - on a medium trance the headtube is 145 mm and on a large it is 165mm

Do they run integrated/internal headsets?

What length steerer do you have on your trance?

He is asking about steerer length, not stems.

I sold my XL trance last year but i seem to recall it was a semi integrated headset. Can't remember what the stack height of the headset was though. I had around 2/3cm of spacers below the stem although you could run it without spacers if required.

Stack height on the semi integrated headsets that Giant use isn't much, 8-10mm maybe? Certainly on my Reign X which has a long headtube, yet with lots of spacers, the steerer on the forks isn't all that long overall.

Mr silly question 2010

How so? I have some forks on my current bike and want to know the steerer length people are using on a prospective bike!! Hardly silly question is it??

200mm leaves plenty of room on a medium.

How is the rear Brake Hose secured to the bike - is it in sealed ferrules or (hope) zip ties?

Sorry Robj your threads are a bit daft. Easily answerable with google.

Makes you look like you need a hand going to the toilet.

Integrated headset. On my XL with a 240mm steerer and no spacers and 35mm stack stem (so low) that's just long enough. Headtube on the XL is visible from space mind.

Oh and Im running my xl trance with an uncut steerer and a few spacers. If I remember it is really long anyway due to the cone spacer on top. Made finding a second hand fork really difficult

1/10 for the rant Rob, i know you can almost do better

10/10 for believing an internet forum is real life so much you need to email me

as for being a ****, you are the one who feels the need to email about something posted on the internet. ๐Ÿ˜•

anyway, back to reality

Edit: i've just realised, it's half term isn't it! explains everything ๐Ÿ™‚

scottyjohn - you don't need to run the cone spacer. I don't, so I can get the front end sensibly low.

Even at its lowest, I could still get the bars on my DH bike lower than my trance if I wanted to - and it's got 3" more travel going on. Trances have tall HTs.
